Need something tasty to go with your Colorado beer? There aren’t many joints in this town that don’t serve up eats tailor-made for IPAs, saisons, sours or any other craft brew that strikes your fancy. But to get started, here's a sampling.
Tiger Wings at Ace Eat Serve
There are plenty of places in Denver to get traditional buffalo or barbecue chicken wings, but we love Ace Eat Serve’s tangier version, with sweet-and-salty tiger sauce. Wash them down with a Great Divide Samurai Rice Ale.
Wurst at Rhein Haus
From traditional beef-and-pork brats to stateside creations like the Bourbon Buffalo (made with ground buffalo and pork sausage seasoned with sage, onion, black pepper and Buffalo Trace bourbon), the sausages at Rhein Haus score big alongside local bier selections.
The 5280 Prime Burger at 5280 Burger Bar
Loaded with Colorado-raised prime Wagyu beef, sharp white cheddar, an onion ring and house-made steak sauce, this mouthful begs for an equally hearty brew. Check the board inside to see what’s on tap today at 5280.
Pork-belly Tacos at Tacos Tequila Whiskey
Candied garlic and cilantro-laced slaw give these braised-pork tacos a touch of sweetness that pops against a tart-salty michelada (Mexican lager and house spicy tomato mix).
Green Chili Fries at Inga’s Alpine Tavern
An iconic Denver dish served in a retro-styled space inspired by a ‘70s Swedish ski chalet. The only thing that could make it better is a Colorado brew, of which you’ll find plenty.
Avalanche Ale-Basted Pretzels at Ale House at Amato’s
The pretzels are perfectly warm and chewy, but it’s the trio of dipping sauces that really makes this Ale House treat a must-eat: agave-ginger mustard, jalapeño cream cheese and house-made berry jam. Go ahead and order it with a Breckenridge Avalanche Amber Ale to double up on the flavor!
