Denver has a vibrant yoga community, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, from the urban sanctuary at Denver Botanic Gardens to the striking sandstone formations at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. With so many cool places to practice (or learn), Denver’s yoga scene strikes the perfect pose.

NAMASTE TO NATURE

Boasting 300 days of sunshine a year, take your practice outdoors or escape to a rainforest.

Sunrise Vinyasa Yoga

Practice your yoga skills before the natural beauty at Denver Botanic Gardens. In the warmer months (roughly April-October), the hour-long vinyasa classes take place outside in the Annuals Garden under the pavilion. The Annuals Garden is one of the attraction's most colorful gardens in the spring and summertime, making it a serene space to practice. With no music, it gives students the opportunity to tune into their breath and sounds of surrounding nature.

The class invites all levels with postures that promote alignment, flexibility, focus and endurance, and help detoxify the body. Practitioners should bring their own mats and any props they want to use. Also offered: evening vinyasa in Mordecai Children’s Garden, kundalini and, occasionally, bilingual yoga.

Yoga on the Rocks

Align your chakras at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, one of the world’s most iconic music venues. Surrounded by the picturesque sandstone formations, the seasonal classes run from 7-8 a.m. and sell out fast. Join 2,500 other locals and visitors for a summer Saturday you won’t soon forget, flowing to sounds from a live DJ. Bring a water bottle and yoga mat, and plan to give yourself extra time before or after class for a photoshoot or hike.

Season passes and four-packs are available, but tickets must be purchased online in advance. All levels are encouraged to attend; models on stage provide pose modifications for all skill and injury levels.

If you want to experience yoga and Colorado's great outdoors it doesn't get better than this. Zen Out Yoga offers hiking along with stops to practice yoga and meditation while you take in fresh mountain air. Check the schedule for upcoming hikes and retreats, or contact Zen Out Yoga to book a private hike.
